United Way of Passaic County is sending 1,500 children back to school this fall with the
tools they need to succeed. We provide backpacks and school supplies
for families who cannot afford them.
Can we help 1,500 children? Yes! But only if you join us. Here are some sponsorship opportunities for businesses:
Sponsor one of our classrooms and provide the backpacks for a class of 20-22 children.
Sponsor 1,000 pieces from our school supply list. Choose from items such as rulers, calculators, glue sticks, and more.
Give a financial donation toward the purchase of backpacks, school supplies and new shoes.
Allow employees to volunteer 3 hours with United Way to stuff backpacks with supplies.
Retail establishments: Sell our hang tags at your cash registers to raise money for the Backpacks for Kids program.
Every business that joins us will be named on the sponsorship tag attached to each backpack.
2010 Sponsors to date include: AARP Clifton Richfield Chapter, BAE
Systems, BP, Felician College, North Jersey Federal Credit Union, and
Roche.

13 mothers and 2 fathers will attend the 8 sessions that teach healthy
cooking demonstrations, good nutrition habits for young children, and

February 12, 2010 Vote for United Way!
Target invites everyone to participate in their two week long
giving campaign!
The campaign, which runs from January 31 through February 14, 2010, combines
football and love just in time for Super Bowl XLIV and Valentine's Day, and
allows participants to choose how five national charities will receive a
portion of $1 million from Target to fund educational programing.
Super Love Sender allows everyone to upload a personal photo and customize one of three quirky
Valentine's Day E-Cards! Football-inspired video cards to send to friends and
family in support of the select charities.
Every time a video card is sent, the chosen charity will receive one vote. The
total percentage of votes will correlate to the charities' portion of the $1
million towards their educational program!
United Way will use funds to
help children enter school ready to learn,
read proficiently by 4th grade and
graduate on time!
